With over 30 years experience in sanding and polishing, we have the tools and solutions to ensure a spectacular result every time.
Care in preparation is essential to achieving the perfect finish.
Prior to commencement, we inspect the floors thoroughly to identify any structural faults, moisture levels, or areas requiring special attention.
Where necessary, we will undertake repairs, replace boards, punch nails, fill any holes, gaps or cracks, and remove quad edging prior to sanding.
We pride ourselves on having the right tools for the job.
Where required, our specialised machinery can cleanly and efficiently remove almost any old coating on your floors (from old solvent coatings, through to Black Japan/bitumen, and vinyl adhesives).
General sanding works involve old finish removal, levelling of floors, cupping/crowning minimisation, and fine sanding.
We know selecting the right finish when polishing floors can be a daunting process, so let us work with you to select the perfect product, colour and sheen level for your floors.
Through careful application of the finishing compound we ensure your floor feels luxurious, radiates depth, and creates a lasting impact.
We provide quality assurance completion reports on completion of all our projects.
For all hardwood flooring repairs and restorations, the team at Wakim & Co should be your first point of call.
When replacing hardwood floors, we aim to source a matching species with similar size, colours, tones and age. This ensures a seamless integration into the undamaged area, resulting in the best finish possible.
We allow for coordination with other subcontracted trades, when repairs works are carried out to bearers/joists/subfloors.
Flooring finishes dull over time, particularly in high traffic areas. In some instances, a simple refinish of your floor is all that is needed to bring them back to life.
The refinishing process involves lightly sanding back the top layer of your floor, before applying a compatible new Top Coat.
Note however that this process will not remove deep dents, scratches or stains in your floor; rectification of these will require full sanding and polishing.
